My stepdad’s poker nights have been getting out of hand. I knew it; he knew it, but he kept playing until he lost everything. When I offered to be there to support him, I thought I was only offering moral support. I never imagined I would be his currency. That’s the thing about playing with those older, gross, and pervy men. They always want more, and they stop at nothing until they get it. This time, they wanted me. I thought about saying no, but my stepdad needed me. If my body could bail him out, I figured I could do that for him. Helping him took more than I thought.
